My Approach to Treating Patients
During my medical training, I realized that my primary interest
was helping people with the functional aspects of their lives. I
wanted to assist people not only live a longer life, but also
maintain a high quality of life. Whether it’s an injured high
school athlete, a weekend warrior with tennis elbow, or an
elderly patient with arthritis, I focus on helping patients
achieve their functional goals.
My philosophy of care revolves around helping each patient
regain function in a safe, timely manner. In most cases, a
non-operative course of treatment will suffice. However, an
operative approach may lead to a quicker and better resolution
of the problem. After a comprehensive evaluation, I will work
with you to make the appropriate decision for your specific
situation. Direct involvement of both the patient and involved
family members in deciding the course of treatment is of
paramount importance. I welcome all patient questions, concerns,
and expectations for recovery.
After completing my orthopaedic training at the University of
Illinois at Chicago and my fellowship at the Medical College of
Wisconsin I decided to return to the East Bay to practice
general orthopaedics with a sub-specialty in hand, elbow and
shoulder surgery.
